Celebrating 10 Years in 2025

It’s hard to believe how far the nursery has come since we started back in 2015 and took on a site with little more than some derelict greenhouses a run down workshop and overgrown brambles.

Eventually we got a polytunnel – Neil said one would be enough! There are now six at our Newent home including our latest, soon to be joined this year by a beautiful Keder insulated polytunnel which will become our propagation hub.

We’ve also got a new insulated workshop – essential for winter work – that’s used for propagating, pack our online orders and deliveries.

The online shop was launched during 2020 – lockdown brought forward the start date by a few weeks. It’s been a great way to get our fabulous plants out to more people. 

Our bespoke and recyclable packaging was something we formulated. Think many hours on the kitchen floor trying out different methods. They were all tested by leaving packages in hot tunnels, dropping them from heights and throwing across the room to ensure our plants would get to you in the same tip-top condition they had when leaving us.

Recently, we’ve been trialling new plant labels – again all recyclable. This environmental awareness underpins our business with all plants grown peat-free and organically.

Our customer base has widened over the past 10 years from selling at car boot sales and food festivals to exhibiting and winning top medals at RHS shows, including Chelsea. We will be back there again this year, along with other shows such as BBC Gardeners’ World Live, the new RHS Wentworth-Woodhouse show and many others.

The best bit is being able to talk herbs with gardeners and as part of our birthday celebrations we’re opening up the nursery for a special party. Numbers will be limited to help with parking. More details nearer the time but do register your interest here.
